The VW Golf R 400 (pictured) is going in to production
Well, we did say the VW Golf R 400 – which debuted at the Beijing Motor Show last week – looked production ready. And it seems it is. Car and Driver have had confirmation from VW’s R&D boss, Heinz-Jakob Neusser, that the Golf R 400 isn’t a concept after all but the first look at a new extreme Golf.

To celebrate this anniversary CAR has sat down with the great man himself to talk about his team and his favourite car and driver, plus we've charted the highs and lows of the Williams F1 team. We told you a couple of days ago about the latest in a long list of Bugatti Veyron special editions – The Bugatti Veyron L’Edition Centenaire. Well, all we could really show you then was a scan of the brochure for the car. After all, Bugatti wanted to keep the car secret prior to its showing at this weekend’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, situated rather prettily by Lake Como, and hadn’t issued any pictures.
